For the longest time, my only experience with iDOLM@STER was the 2011 anime. Since then I’ve become much more acquainted with the franchise, but my love for it is still deeply rooted in 765PRO. Anybody who knows me knows how much I love Haruka Amami, but when it comes to characters that mean the world to me, Chihaya Kisaragi is right behind her. I relate to her a lot honestly, with her passion for what she loves and her quiet awkwardness; I love her friendship with Haruka, and her growth over the course of the anime is such a powerful experience I wish I could find the words to describe how it made me feel. So when I played Mirishita (Million Live Theater Days) and heard Just be myself!! for the first time, it honestly made me tear up. Even if I didn’t understand the words, I could feel the emotion in her voice, her inflection; it reminded me of her resounding solo when she performed Yakusoku , and her pure joy in singing Nemuri Hime .   Some of my favorite characters are ones that I closely relate too. I see a bit (or sometimes all) of myself in them: their personalities, their struggles, and what’s important to them. Most of all, when they are able to overcome their hardships, it’s really inspiring to me; it makes me want to do my best too, to become my best self and not let my self-doubts get in the way. To say that Amami Haruka is one of my favorite characters would honestly be a bit of an understatement. When I first watched the iDOLM@STER and was introduced to the clumsy idol with a can-do attitude and a smile from ear to ear, I never expected that she would be someone who I connected with as much as I do now. She always had a smile on her face, and always tried to support her fellow idols, especially her friend Chihaya.
